When is the Right Time to Get Married?

It has almost been two years since I got married. I know time really flies by!

Now and then a friend will ask, ‘How did you know he was the right guy” and “How long did you date” all those kinds of good questions. Everyone wants to know those kinds of things, but, especially if they are also thinking about getting married.

These are totally normal questions people ask themselves. How do you know when you have met the right person and are ready to get married?

Here are a few things you may want to ask yourself before you get married:

1. Do you have similar interests?

2. Are your life long goals in tune, do you want the same things?

3. Make sure to look at their character, are they a good person, someone that you will be there for through everything and they will do the same for you?

4. Do you cherish each other’s company? Does he make you laugh?

5. Is he supportive of your goals, interests and hobbies and want the best for you?

6. Could you live without the other person?

If you said yes, to all these things he is probably the man for you. Hopefully he feels the same.

When you do get engaged there is a lot of planning to do. Make sure to give yourself at least a year before you set your wedding date. This way you won’t feel as rushed and you won’t put stress on your relationship. This is a big change and you want to take it slow.

Love is an interesting question? We probably ask it frequently when considering a significant other. What does the person make me feel like, are we always together? Celebrating a Fall or Winter Wedding ?

If you are having a fall or winter wedding you have probably begun the countdown already. You are probably pretty well organized at the time and have everything you need book. Great blog! I agree, save the date cards are a must. I have a lot of family that has to travel to me for my wedding. Since they’re traveling for me I want to be courteous and give them advanced notice.

We sent out save the dates as soon as were engaged, well okay maybe a month after when we had finally decided on a date and worked it out with the planner. There are so many pretty ones to choose from on invite papers, but there is a little bit of everything for everyone’s style. We also got a whole bunch of personalized napkins for our engagement party, the wedding and just to keep.

Save the dates are a must. I lost a friend because she didn’t do this and changed her date a few times so it got confusing and then we couldn’t make it once she finally sent out the invitations. I recommend avoiding this at all costs. We will see if she ever comes around, save the dates are like peanut butter and jelly, you can’t have one without the other right? Excellent point!

Wedding Shower Season

Today I go the most beautiful embossed wedding shower invitation. As soon as a I saw the elegant invitation I knew exactly whose wedding shower it was for, my Friend Emily. Everying about the invite said class and luxury; I know that’s exactly how her wedding shower will be. I read the beautiful black script type, it had all the shower details and is going to be held right down the street next month.

I immediately grabbed the registry information and was on my way to Macy’s. I love having first dibbs on the wedding shower gift. An hour later I got the best gift on the list. Very pleased with myself I headed home and wrapped it right away. Showers are such a great way to get a new couple started on their life together and get them a few of the things they will need for their home.

As soon as I wrapped my shower gift I realized I forgot to get a shower card. I have seen embossed monogram gift enclosure cards online. I think it would be elegant to give with the gift and i can write a personalized message inside. I’m glad I thought of this now, it will give me plenty of time to order and have them shipped, I will even have leftover note cards for my next shower gift.

What a nice day for a white wedding. It looks like Kim Kardashian will be getting married sometime in August and I’m not going to speculate as to how she will appear at her wedding, whether she will don a long flowing gown with princess tiara or not. I haven’t read any headlines stating as much. Everything is up in the air as well as the preparations for the bridal shower as well. However the Kardashians will send off Kim you get the feeling it will be in a bold, unabashed, thoroughly entertaining, free and easy kind of a way. The things that Hollywood photo albums are made of. Since only a select few will receive the embossed invitations to the wedding or bridal shower the majority of us won’t be holding our breath. That’s hush , hush information that the wedding planner hasn’t even decided on yet. Bells are ringing for me and my gal, bells are ringing for me and my friend and who else? That sounds like n old familiar tune, way back from the Bing Crosby era. At least it sounds like it to me, and you? Well spring brought the first wave of weddings including the fairy tale come true wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William who are now make up the dynamic duo of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Cam you imagine receiving embossed wedding, wedding shower or wedding reception invitations for anything remotely royal. What about Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ recent announcement for their wedding. Now we can compare their wedding to the future King and Queen of England’s. At least for devoted fans of the Kardashian clan it may be the next best thing. They plan to tape the wedding. It will air on one or more of their television shows in various incarnation. At present it seems too hard to define, what type of theme or motif will have moniker for what may be the Hollywood wedding to end the summer? Will it be the fairy tale wedding to end the summer in conjunction to the one that started the spring. I think the couple should focus more Romance and whimsical aspects of the ceremony. I think the couple would select. I think the couple would select our Romantic or Red invitations. Ms Kardashian would select similar invitations for the shower, very ornate or embossed or monogrammed cards re also possibilities.

It’s a funny thing about weddings. There were a plethora of spring weddings that followed the early spring ceremony of the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton. Appetizers For Spring Weddings

Planning a wedding is almost like planning all of your holiday and special events for the whole year in one day. It makes sense to dole everything out in manageable little sections. We’ve talked to wedding planners and tabulated somewhere between 100 and 150 guests will attend. We’ve ordered the cake, sent out the Save The Date Cards and will be forwarding the “Love ” Wedding Invitations from the Romantic Collection out by Valentine’s Day. We’re working on a menu and beverage list for the reception and dinner, since we don’t have a bar and complete staff to man it we’re trying to work on it. We’ve decided on monogrammed napkins, combining the groom and bride’s initials into the new name but we’re still reviewing Classic Monogrammed Foil Stamp, Paris, Granada, or Oxford Foil Stamp.

Yes, easy to believe the majority of the reception’s budget will go for food, namely appetizers? Appetizers will be passed and arranged on the buffet. A sit down dinner will be served in an adjoining room. For the moment our menu is not set in stone but we’re serving liver pate spread, mini shish kabobs, carmelized onions on Melba toasts, deviled eggs and caviar, mini spinach quiches, Martha Stewart’s cheese balls, chicken quesadillas, blinis with creme fraiche and more caviar, stuffed mushrooms and shrimp canapes. A few things may change between now and the wedding but the intricate detail of the napkins, the extensive guest lists and the encounters and events created will be remembered for a long, long time. Great celebrations, family and friends and our napkins always go hand in hand.

There are a number of holiday events going round. Believe it or not Valentine’s Day is only two weeks away. Black History Month started yesterday. President’s. Day is the third Monday in February and we shouldn’t forget that today is Ground Hog Day. There appears to be several dates for spring weddings when you’ll be running around casually compiling a few choice hors doeuvres or appetizers to enjoy. People will stop, sit back, relax and enjoy a chilled glass of Moet Chandon Champagne Imperial, Rose or Brut. When you think of appetizers and different tastes you want to make sure you’ve got everything covered. Different people have different tastes so you want to make sure that your offerings vary. Everything shouldn’t be all one sided. Variety is the spice of life in everything even when you’re talking about spring hors d oeuvres for a spring wedding. You can serve mini veg kabobs, carmelized onions on melba toasts, deviled eggs and caviar with spinach quiche for vegetarians or those who are not on meat restricted diets. You could also try a simple cheese tray with your choice cheeses: Cheddar, Spicy Jack, Swiss, Gouda, Brie, Herb Cheese spread with freshly baked breads and crackers. Another option would be a fruit tray: Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Honey Dew, Pineapple, Grapes, Strawberries, Apples, Kiwis, Grapes, Oranges, Lemons and Limes. Whatever type of meat or sea food: Tuna Tartare, Sushi, Grilled Shrimp, Baked, Broiled or Fried Chicken. Mini ham and biscuits are served at southern weddings. What a nice day for a white wedding? The lyrics were a proverbial shout from a popular song in the 80s when I was still young, innocent and believed that you could fall in love with someone and you’d both go to the chapel of love to get married. Love was indeed a many splendored thing. My how my perspective has changed. At the time that song was popular I think the last thing on Billy idol’s mind was getting married. He sang of rebellion, angst ladened cries of freedom, freedom from convention, freedom from labels, freedom from bad relationships and perhaps even freedom from personal history that comes back around to haunt everyone of us every now and then but we are prioritizing wedding plans and spring is the season for love and to consummate your vows. There will be so many people in step with each other in the warmer months starting a new life together. They’ll be starting again, taking vows, making promises and ready for a happily ever after. That is nice. There isn’t anything wrong with that if you’re also ready for working at your relationship when things go wrong.
