Cigarette smoke still hangs heavy in the air at Ava’s sister’s house despite the fact both Marie and Andrew had kicked the habit more than three months back. It was the first step to cleaning up their own environment their home and the next step was the eco friendly approach to life they’d just begun to try. They’d been married twelve years and were now environmentally conscious but I was curious as to what did environmentally conscious mean to them, so I asked and Marie answered. Well it means paying more attention to the environment before it kicks us in the behind again. Increasing temperatures, more ice melting from the polar caps, and more harmful solar rays breaking through the ozone indicated we had a problem some time ago. It tells us that the amount of chemicals and pollution we’ve pumped into the atmosphere has continued to heavily contribute to the greenhouse effect and damage to the ozone. Its effects may not be reversible but we’ve at least seen a slowdown in the deterioration. Eco, someone said something about eco and I thought she was talking about the economy. It turns out Ava was raving about this new line of eco friendly stationery that she found on InvitePapers.com. I didn’t ask her anything about eco friendly stationery or what the big deal about something was small like stationery. She just continued to talk like it was the only thing that mattered and believe me while she was talking about it; it was the only thing that mattered. She said she found something absolutely “divine,” “breath taking” and she’d ordered it right there on the spot.
Who would’ve thought that Ava would go through extremes over stationery? I mean it’s only paper, mostly non-recyclable at that. I didn’t know what grabbed her by the arm and lead her to the web site but whatever it was I would find out later. Ava continued to rave about the personalized eco friendly green tea notes that she’d found and would have monogrammed with her sister and husband’s initials. I have a set of the Executive Pads and I use them nearly everyday. I have the pads all over the house in spots where I’ve placed them and backpacks, attaches or organizers I’ve carried them in. They came in a variety of sizes and the smaller ones fit on your pocket. You can grab them at work while you’re walking out , when you get up from the desk and are going out the door or when you pick up the phone because you’ve got one right next to it. I didn’t contemplate whether or not I was committing a heinous crime against the environment. It didn’t dawn on me until you mentioned it in the blog above. I’ve used eco friendly stationery before. It is a cool idea, especially if it changes a lot of people’s opinions and gets them to switch. My current set isn’t made from recycled paper but it will be something I consider for my next purchase. I like the Executive set, as with the Anthony 7 set. It’s got a variety of sizes that pretty much will work for all types of functions. The different sized memos have been instrumental in capturing, completing, and extrapolating thoughts at various stages. My name never looked as good as it does on a personal pad staring back at me with a list of things to do, folks to call back, an outline, a thought or someone who either called me or I need to get back to.
