When is the Right Time to Get Married?

It has almost been two years since I got married. I know time really flies by!

Now and then a friend will ask, ‘How did you know he was the right guy” and “How long did you date” all those kinds of good questions. Everyone wants to know those kinds of things, but, especially if they are also thinking about getting married.

These are totally normal questions people ask themselves. How do you know when you have met the right person and are ready to get married?

Here are a few things you may want to ask yourself before you get married:

1. Do you have similar interests?

2. Are your life long goals in tune, do you want the same things?

3. Make sure to look at their character, are they a good person, someone that you will be there for through everything and they will do the same for you?

4. Do you cherish each other’s company? Does he make you laugh?

5. Is he supportive of your goals, interests and hobbies and want the best for you?

6. Could you live without the other person?

If you said yes, to all these things he is probably the man for you. Hopefully he feels the same.

When you do get engaged there is a lot of planning to do. Make sure to give yourself at least a year before you set your wedding date. This way you won’t feel as rushed and you won’t put stress on your relationship. This is a big change and you want to take it slow.

Get his opinion on the wedding planning. When you are shopping for wedding invitations have him sit with you as you search for the perfect personalized wedding stationery. Love is an interesting question? We probably ask it frequently when considering a significant other. What does the person make me feel like, are we always together? Do we ever argue with each other and why.? Do you feel incomplete when you’re not side by side? I knew you were coming so I baked you a cake, not just any wedding cake but the cake that would stop traffic when guests enter the dining area at the reception. We just got our thank you cards that we ordered and they look very nice. We started filling them out and sending them off last week this morning and while it makes us feel good to give a “thank you” that’s oficial our hands are so tired. Great selection though and we will be back!

Baby Naming is not Easy

Exciting News! I am over 6 months pregnant now. My husband and I are both very excited and recently found out we are having a baby girl. I always thought baby naming would be really easy and a lot of fun. To our surprise it has been a lot a work and a little bit of a challenge. We Started by looking at baby names online

We had already decided what the baby name would have been if we were having a boy. He would have been named after his dad, Frankie, and his middle name would have been taken from my dad, Robert. 1,2,3 Easy! But since we are having a girl, we have pulled out the name books.

There is one girl name I really like, but, my husband works with someone with that name, so he just doesn’t feel comfortable using it. Surprisingly enough our taste in names is a bit different from each other, my husband likes the traditional girl names and I like names that are a little less common.

The Baby shower is coming; we have ordered our baby shower invitations, baby shower party napkins and baby thank you cards. A baby is supposed to be a bundle of joy bursting free with no worries, no obligations, a vision of joy for the proud parents. So far this year Pippa is the girl’s name that has gained a great deal of popularity. Philippa is the more formal version but they both mean lover of horses. Kate, Eula and Aiden, boy’s name, are on the rise this year as well. No one has made a complete tabulation for the year because babies are continuing to be born. Last year the top five girl’s name were Emma, Olivia, Sophia, Isabella and Ava. The top five boys names were Mason, Liam, Jack, Ethan and Noah. At this point in the year there are no clear cut winners, not yet. Emma means all containing or universal. Olivia means elf army and Sophia means wisdom. What’s in the name. Boys names can be just as random. If you go by the old adage of what’s in a name you’ll be in for a surprise. You’ll find a deeper meaning may come with the name you choose and what the child first reveals he or she is and then there may be a clearer match or greater revelation on what the child will become . They may grow into the name, they may not. Mason means brick layer’s son. Liam means will or desire and Jack means God is gracious while Allen means rock.
