When it comes to wedding invitations, the internet reigns supreme. This is all because of the fact that the internet is the most competitive place to shop for any type of merchandise. If these online stores want to remain competitive the best way for them to achieve this is through their pricing and through the speed in which they ship out orders. Wedding Invitation Cards: What Should Be Included?

Sometimes opening a wedding invitation is like opening a deck of cards: there are so many invitation cards included that it’s hard to keep track of.

Now that you’re planning a wedding you can understand why there are so many different cards – there’s a lot of information you need to give! There aren’t any hard and fast rules on what to include in the invite, so take a look at the information you need to give, and what you can leave up to your guests.

Reply Cards – These used to be a must, but some people are beginning to limit their wedding invitation cards by letting guests register online. If you decide to use reply cards, try to include envelopes that are stamped and addressed.

That will make your life and your guests’ lives easier – and they are more likely to respond. Or create a postcard – just make sure your card is properly sized to go through the postal service. Stick a stamp on the back and address it and you’ve saved yourself a bit of money.

Reception Cards – If all of your information about the reception won’t fit on the invite, you might consider creating a separate card detailing the reception information. This is helpful if your reception location requires a map or special directions.

Creating a reception card is helpful if you plan on inviting some people to the wedding but not the reception – you can print out the cards you need for the reception and include them for guests that are invited.

Pew Cards – Often at larger weddings, a section of seats are saved for special guests or older relatives. Creating cards with directions on where the guests sit can then be given to the ushers.

Transportation Cards – If you have shuttles for guests between hotels and sites or instructions on what parking lots should be used, a card detailing what the guests should do and where they should go is helpful. Not only does it dispel confusion on the day itself, but it helps guests plan their transportation prior to the event.

Name and address cards – If you want to alert the guests to the new name and address of the couple, this would be a convenient way to do it. This can be seen as very traditional, but a modern couple can find this useful – if the couple decides to hyphenate their name or if the couple is taking on a last name different from either of their previous last names, this is a good way to announce that to friends and family prior to the ceremony.

While it might seem overwhelming, including these different wedding invitation cards in with the main invite itself is a good way to package all of your wedding information cohesively.

The Perfect Wedding Invitation

I was looking for the perfect wedding invitation but having a hard time finding anything close to what I had in mind. My wedding was in the springtime and I wanted something bright and vibrant. All I could find were traditional style invitations in pastels.

Sometiems it can be really difficult to shop for something when you know exactly what you want and already have an image of it in mind. This is exactly what was happening to me while I was in search if the perfect wedding invitation.

I wanted a springtime wedding because I loved the season. I loved the bright vivacious colors that the springtime brought and I wanted bold and bright colors in my wedding. I selected bright daisies for the bouquet and flowers and I wanted these colors carried out in my wedding reception invitation design.

After looking at what was offered at the various printers located in my area, I was very unhappy with the selection at hand. Not only could I not find any invitations that were bright in color, but I couldn’t find any that had daisies either. I was beginning to think that I would just have to pick out something that I didn’t absolutely love.

Before I admitted defeat and just picked a random invitation I wanted to exhaust every available option that I had. I decided to try the internet just to see if I could find something close to what I had in mind.

Within seconds I had dozens of options to choose from. There were a number of online printers that offered a large selection of invitations. After browsing through a few different online stores and checking out the merchandise I was surprised by how affordable some of the invitations were.

I decided to focus my search on the stores that offered the lowest prices. If I could find the perfect invitation and save myself some money I would be thrilled! I should’ve thought about shopping online a long time ago. I always had better luck finding exactly what I was looking for online.

And then, all of a sudden, I saw it. A beautiful bright blue invitation covered with the outlines of hundreds of daisies. It was exactly what I had been looking for. It used my flower and the color of the invitation was bright and vibrant.

Needless to say, I ordered the invitations and waited for them with extreme anticipation.

Wedding Invitation Cards: Ideas To Get You Started

Invitation cards seem easy when you start – pick out a paper, pick out a font and you’re done. As soon as you start looking for cards that match your personality and style, things get complicated. How do you make your invitations stand out and show off who you are as a couple?

Use your site for inspiration. Perhaps you’re getting married in an elegant old postal office. Draw from that to inspire your invitation cards. Look through images of old stamps to find something that could tie your invites to your spot.

Maybe it’s just as simple as using a square invite with perforated edges that mirror a stamp’s look. One couple was engaged on a hot air balloon. This romantic moment was recalled through a balloon image on the corner of their invites.

Use your words. Invitation cards seem to have formulaic wording, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Be adventurous. Make the largest thing on your invitation the ampersand that joins your two names together – it becomes a design feature and a symbol of what the day is all about.

A couple who was married last year created a story with their invite – several cards were included in the invitation, each telling a line of their love story. The first line? “It wasn’t love at first sight.” A great teaser and a great way to tell the story that your guests might not know.

Make it about you two. Perhaps you are both musicians. What better way to show off your style then to make the wedding invitation look like a vintage concert poster?

Or maybe one of you is a filmmaker. One couple used those skills to create a killer save the date that gained Internet buzz way beyond the couple’s guest list. The invitations, luckily, came later.

Make it complete. If you are having a wedding extravaganza that includes multiple days of events, creating a complete package of information is essential. It can also be fun. Create a stylish folder that includes all of the information. Style it with tabs or different sized sheets of paper for easy reading and organizing.

Size and shape it. Use a different scale to attract attention. Create a large fold-out invite that resembles a map. Mark out different locales – first date, first kiss, where you live and where you are moving.

Be sure that the church and reception hall are prominently marked! Or use an unusual shape – one couple who was having a beach wedding used a die-cut starfish shape for their invite.

Using a bit of creativity, your invite can become a work of art that will be treasured years after you say “I do.”

The Gift of Personalized Stationery

I remember the days of sitting down with a pen and paper and some personalized stationery to write loved ones a letter. I also fondly remember walking out to the mailbox with excitement with the hope of receiving a reply. It seems as if the old-fashioned ways of communicating with each other were dying out and being replaced with new technology.

I felt as if everybody were in such a rush that they no longer took the time to hand write anything anymore. This was such a shame. Our instant gratification generation was wiping out one of the oldest means of communication, writing.

Keyboards were replacing pens and pencils and the internet had taken over the postal service. While I did appreciate this new technology, I also longed for the days when I would get to sit down and read a hand written letter. The only things delivered to my mailbox nowadays were bills.

One afternoon, I received a colorful envelope that was addressed to me in handwriting. I could feel a rush of excitement come over me. I opened the envelope and it read:

Dear Grandma:

I received this awesome personalized stationery as a present for my birthday. I wanted to write my first letter to you. It is so nice to be able to write a letter on my personalized paper. It even has my name and address on the top. School is going great and I can’t wait to see you at Christmas break. I have a lot of plans already for your visit. As I set the letter down I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. It felt wonderful to read such a beautiful letter written on such beautiful stationery. I put the letter up on my refrigerator so that I could look at it often and think about my upcoming visit.

I sat down to write my granddaughter a note expressing my excitement over receiving the note and telling her that I am also looking forward to my visit. Then a thought dawned on me, maybe all of my grandchildren needed some of their own stationery to encourage them to write letters. I decided to purchase them each a set so that they could learn for themselves the magic of letter writing.

Invitations for Wedding Celebrations

I had been in search of invitations for wedding celebrations. I could not afford the high prices for the invitations that my local print store charged so I decided to try to find another alternative. My budget for my wedding was tight and I was already having a hard enough time trying to stick to it.

First I looked into making my own invitation cards celebrations. I had seen kits at my local craft store that were supposed to help you make your own invites. I went to the craft store and read the back of the kit. It seemed extremely complicated.

I didn’t like the fact that the kit said that it was incompatible with certain operating systems. I did not know much about computers, but I did know that I wasn’t going to waste fifty dollars on a kit that might not even work.

Next I decided to go to a party store and see what types of invitations for wedding celebrations that they carried. I was completely disappointed. They only carried cheap looking generic cards that would never suffice. Although I had to stick to a budget, I did not want my wedding to look cheap.

I was becoming very anxious about the entire situation. It was a challenge to adhere to a very strict budget for my wedding and I had no idea how expensive invitations were. I had to find another place to purchase invitations that was more affordable otherwise I was going to have to cancel the limo.

My aunt suggested that I look online to see if I could find a printer that could make the cards for a much more affordable price. I went onto the computer and searched for wedding invitations.
